Job description

The Claims Analyst discovers & assesses copyright claims, supporting clients, attorneys and other staff members. When an infringement is discovered, your role is to research the claim, collect evidence, manage the case and initiate communication between the infringer and the copyright owner.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage copyright infringement cases under strict time constraints.
  • The proper collection of evidence leading to a resolution of the copyright claim.
  • Communicate case details to the infringer and copyright owner.
  • Resolve common copyright myth and misconceptions.
  • Understand the basics of US copyright law to educate potential infringers.
  • Perform user acceptance testing on internal and customer facing applications on an as needed basis
  • Assist with new business processes and special projects as assigned

 JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • BS/BA degree preferred, but not required.
  • Previous experience with copyright law preferred, but not required
  • Previous experience in communications and/or marketing preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with focus on teamwork.
  • Must be able to demonstrate strong research and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel.
  • Must be a team player, with the ability to adapt to a variety of situations and work effectively with people from all across the company.
  • Must be able to take initiative and be a self-starter, as well as keeping supervisors updated.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and tactfully with personnel on all levels, in person, on the telephone or over written communication.

Description:

The Seattle based Blend Images workflow team is seeking an innovative, results oriented, stock video professional to oversee content editing, quality control, distribution and support of our fast building stock clip library. The ideal candidate will have experience in stock video production, solid technical skills, sound business judgement and work well in a team environment.

Basic Qualifications:

• Solid experience with Final Cut Pro, Compressor, and other major motion graphics editing software (Avid, Lightworks, Premiere, After Effects, Resolve, etc.)
• Knowledgeable in converting raw footage into finalized, edited clips, including attention to grading, coloring, clipping and appropriate CODECS.
• Understanding of technical and aesthetic specifications for commercial quality clips.
• Ability to communicate editing and Q.C. considerations with filmmakers, giving them feedback and assistance.
• Attention to detail and strong skills maintaining a workflow.
• Strong knowledge of current digital video systems used to capture footage including high end systems like RED and ARRI, but also widely used DSLR systems such as Sony a7, Canon, Nikon, Fuji.
• Experience with Metadata and Digital Asset Management.
• Team player and strong communicator.
• Responsible for managing submissions to distributors and maintaining relationships and current clip standards.
• Interface with direct clients to answer film related questions on assets sold directly and through channel.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Four-year college degree or equivalent
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills
• Experience and knowledge working directly in the creative process, a passion for filmmaking and familiarity with current trends and innovations. Compensation commensurate with experience.

The Commercial Sales Executive for National Geographic Partners is responsible for developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies designed to introduce and retain client accounts in the commercial stock and assignment market sector in order to achieve annual sales quota. This position will maintain a working knowledge of current photo and video market trends in the commercial industry. They will target specific clients and develop targeted marketing collateral such as portfolios, brochures, etc. They will also prepare and deliver presentations, plan marketing events, select talent, prepare estimates for creative work and production expenses for photo and video shoots, negotiate rates and oversee assignments from inception to close including hiring and managing producers and budgets. This position will report directly to the VP of Sales and Marketing.

The Image/Video Archivist for National Geographic Partners (NGP) will organize all published visual materials from NGP publications, along with relevant legal documents and load them into the asset management system. This position will determine and document baseline metadata to make materials discoverable and reusable. This position reports to the Archive Manager.

The Photo/Video Researcher will creatively research visuals for National Geographic Partners and 3rd party clients for editorial, commercial, product and advertising uses. This position will create initial edits for large scale NGP publications. They will liaise with National Geographic Creative editing staff to assure editors are aware of client research needs when making selections for additions to the archive. This position reports directly to the VP of Creative Services.

 Systems Analyst/ Help Desk

A unique opportunity exists for the right individual! Everett Collection, in business 25 years, is one of the world’s great entertainment & historical image archives. We are seeking a person with professional experience, or strong working knowledge, of SQL language.

The position calls for significant amounts of ETL work. Applicant must be comfortable and experienced writing queries using Full Text Index querying syntax.  The basis for the work is:

  • Ingesting images and related data into the archive from various suppliers
  • Compiling collections of images to be exported to affiliates and distributors
  • Aid in data related troubleshooting on the floor for various workflows

As part of a four person IT team, you would be involved in many elements of keeping the 20+ person company running. There is an assigned System Admin, but the technical abilities to provide backup and run some standard IT processes will be a requirement.   As such there will be significant interaction with staff and clients in a support capacity.

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years in a professional capacity working with SQL queries, or educational equivalent.
  • 2-3 years’ experience in helpdesk or similar IT professional capacity.
  • Significant experience and familiarity with Microsoft software and operating systems. ( We are a Windows shop )

  • Punctuality and reliability. Must be able to work a fixed schedule, but be flexible
  • Good independent judgment in planning and prioritizing a diversified work load
