Visual Connections returns to Chicago on Thursday, May 5th to stage another discovery, networking and education event exclusively for image/footage/art buyers and researchers. The venue will again be the beautiful and conveniently located Ivy Room at Tree Studios.
This is a unique opportunity for creative directors, designers, editors, publishers and producers to find creative inspiration and new providers of visual media; to pick up tips about legal issues, trends and new resources; and network with peers from leading creative and editorial companies.
“Visual Connections brings picture professionals together better than any other regular event I know of.” – Doug Brooks, Image Research Team
Over half the exhibitors are new to Visual Connections Chicago, representing the full gamut of stock and commissioned photography, illustration and motion, including artist reps Emissary, Illustration USA, Jodie Zeitler, RAD and Wave Represents; 360° panoramas specialist 360Cities; movie archive British Film Institute; and video discovery & licensing platform Catch&Release.
Visual Connections is delighted to be working with Workbook, the leading marketing resource for commercial photographers and illustrators, as the event’s Principal Sponsor.
“Workbook is proud to sponsor Visual Connections in the hope that we can further cultivate the relationships that result in stunning visual campaigns,” says Bill Daniels, Owner of Workbook.
“This new relationship is a key part of Visual Connections’ strategy to become the meeting place for all visual creatives, from stock users on a budget to high end producers,” says Deborah Free, Co-President of Visual Connections.
Three sessions are programmed for the day: the Keynote Q&A session in the morning will focus on social media as a marketing platform and talent source, with copyright attorney Bill McGrath and other industry experts on the panel. The first afternoon session will cover combined stills & motion production, with presentations by leading image makers Laurie Rubin and Jonathan Chapman; the second will examine platforms for searching and licensing stock imagery.
The day will conclude with a Cinco de Mayo-themed Happy Hour in the courtyard garden from 5–7pm, sponsored by Workbook.
